Facts and History
Today, only about 2% of Indians are Christian. Christianity began in ancient Israel about 2000 years ago.
GodChristians only have one God. Christians also believe in the Holy Trinity. The Holy Trinity is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We also believe that thousands of years ago, a savior was born. His name is Jesus. We also believe that He was crucified on the cross and died for our sins to save us. The image below shows Jesus.
Religious Beliefs About AfterlifeChristians believe in Heaven and Hell. Heaven is the peaceful place with God where a soul goes after it leaves the body after death if the person (obviously before death) has lived a good, holy life following God. For most people, after they die, they have to go to purgatory. Purgatory is the state before Heaven, to make up for sins. Purgatory is even nicknamed "the purification station." Hell is the complete opposite. Hell is total separation from God. A soul only goes to Hell if the person, before death, has lived a unholy life, never asked for forgiveness, and never followed God.
